Choose the Product for the Bathroom
Vinyl, tiles and other products made for bathroom use have different fitting and care requirements. Compare the actual range and intended use. Grip and comfort depend on the finish and conditions, not just the material name.
- Suitable for its bathroom position
- Care instructions you can follow
- A finish that works with the furniture
Include Preparation in the Price
The existing floor may need repair or levelling before a new finish is installed. Check the total height at doors and around fittings. A low material price does not include every part of preparing and fitting the floor.
Finish Edges and Keep Repair Access
Agree how the floor meets the shower, bath, walls and doorway. Follow the selected system’s instructions for joints and water protection. Keep any necessary access usable, and ask when the new surface is ready for normal use.
Your Bathroom Questions
Is all vinyl suitable for a bathroom?
Check the exact product and fitting system, including whether it can be used on the shower floor. Do not rely on a general description alone.
Can I keep the floor beneath the old covering?
Its condition and suitability need checking. Repairs may be necessary if damage or movement is found.
Can the floor work with underfloor heating?
Compatibility depends on the heating system and flooring product. Have both checked together, including permitted temperatures and installation requirements.
